Fraser Island has only a very tiny number of permanent residents, but hundreds of thousands of people visit the island every year and explore is natural beauty.

Basically there are 4 permanent settlements each offering various Fraser Island accommodation . Outside those settlements there are other places to stay on Fraser Island as well.

Except for Kingfisher Bay Resort all accommodations are on the east coast of Fraser Island. However there are a couple of camp ground on the west side and inland as well.

 

Kingfisher Bay Resort (resort with all the usual facilities)
Location: west coast about 45 kilometres north of Hook Point.
Offers 4 star accommodation (hotel rooms and villa's), swimming pools, restaurants, shops, petrol, and ferry.

Dilli Village (private campground)
Location: east coast about 25 kilometers north of Hook Point
Offers: tent sites and cabins, facilities showers, toilets

Eurong Second Valley (holiday homes)
Location: east coast about 35 kilometers north of Hook Point
Offers a range of privately owned holiday homes

Eurong Beach Resort (resort with limited facilities)

Location: east coast about 35 kilometers north of Hook Point
Offers: self contained units and two bedroom apartments, shop, bakery, petrol, resort pool, restaurant.

Poyungan Rocks

Location: east coast about 46 kilometers north of Hook Point
Offers: self contained accommodation

Happy Valley
Location: east coast about 55 kilometers north of Hook Point
Offers: small complex with 2-bedroom apartments, lodges and private holiday homes, restaurant, shop, petrol

Cathedral Beach (private camp ground)
Location: east coast about 70 kilometers north of Hook Point
Offers private campground with powered and unpowered sites, toilets, showers and cabins

Dundubara Camping Area (National Park Campground)
Location: east coast about 76 kilometers north of Hook Point
Offers: campsites, showers, toilets

Waddy Point (National Park Campground)
Location: east coast about 96 kilometers north of Hook Point
Offers: campsites, showers, toilets

Orchid Beach (holiday homes)
Location: east coast about 97 kilometers north of Hook Point

Wherever you would like to stay on Fraser Island please be aware that dingo's might be in the area and food needs to be put away safely at all times and children need to be watched. Also please take your rubbish with you and don't burry it on Fraser Island as the dingos will dig it up again.

As Fraser Island is a remote wilderness area, medical help might be far away. Also be aware that all tracks are single lane so oncoming traffic on Fraser Island will be on the same lane as you are. Speed restrictions apply on the beach and all tracks of Fraser Island.
